An uncommon retreat for men, women, and all humans.

"Our birthright is to be free — unbridled, unbroken. So our first step into freedom is to rewild ourselves."
— Kelly Wendorf, FLYING LEAD CHANGE: 56 Million Years of Wisdom for Leading and Livig
Something is off. You feel it.
Not in the big dramatic way. In the quiet way.
In the way you hold back what you actually think in a meeting, or at the dinner table, because you already know how it will land. In the way you perform a version of yourself — competent, agreeable, useful, and wonder where the real one went. In the way you feel the rift between yourself and the people on the other side of the gender divide, and don't know how to cross it without someone getting hurt.
Patriarchy didn't only oppress women. It tamed all of us.
It took something essential from each of us before we were old enough to know what was happening. From boys, it stole emotional intelligence and the freedom to feel. From girls, it stole outspoken honesty and the freedom to name what was real. And it left us here—on opposite sides of a chasm that was built to keep us apart—straining toward each other, suspicious, exhausted, and privately grieving something we can't quite name.
Emerging is the journey back.
Back to yourself...to the instincts, the sensitivity, the boldness, the clarity that were yours before the world decided they were inconvenient.
This retreat is for you if:
You are a woman who has spent years learning to soften the truth to protect the room, and you're done with it. You long to bring the wisdom you’ve gleaned from women’s only retreats into the space for all humans.
You are a man who has been told your entire life that strength means not feeling, and not caring, and some part of you has always known that was a lie. You long to have deep, meaningful relationships with others.
You are any human who lives in the space between those two poles and knows that the old system doesn't fit you, and never did.
You don't need prior experience with retreats, personal development, or horses. You need only the willingness to come as you are, and the hunger to leave as something more fully yourself.
What you will leave with:
A recovered sense of your own instincts, and the ability to trust them
Greater freedom from the roles, narratives, and survival strategies that have kept you small
Genuine trust in "the other" — across the gender divide, and across your own internal divides
New tools for honest, grounded communication that don't require anyone to perform
A community of allies who are doing the same hard, hopeful work
The lived experience of being witnessed, not fixed
This is the kind of experience that stays with you when you leave and shapes the way you live and relate. It is a lasting shift in how you know yourself.
Why together?
Because the rift doesn't heal in separate rooms.
The revolution to end the patriarchy — and to reclaim what it stole from each of us — takes two. It takes the woman willing to stop keeping the secrets of the system. It takes the man willing to be unmade and remade, to let something real rise in place of the performance. It takes humans of every configuration willing to practice something harder and rarer than tolerance: genuine encounter.
That sea creature, finally unfurling. Finally opening into the easiness of what we could be. Together.
There is no other retreat like this one. Not because we have a method, but because we have a vision: that what is broken between us was made that way, and can be unmade. That there is something on the other side of all this that is worth the crossing.
The Experience
Over three days in the high desert of Santa Fe, you will move through a structured, experiential journey designed to take you deeper over time.
With Kelly and Darin as your guides, you will work with:
The land. Nature is not backdrop here. It is curriculum. The wild knows things about who you are that your daily life obscures.
The horses. Through The EQUUS Experience®, you will work with horses on the ground — no riding required. Horses respond to energy and behavior in real time. They don't care about your title, your story, or your intentions. They will show you exactly what is happening, and offer you the chance to shift it, in the moment.
Each other. In carefully facilitated dyads and triads, witnessed exercises, and whole-group work, you will practice the kind of honest, boundaried, alive contact that is the actual antidote to the gender divide.
Yourself. Journaling, reflection, and integration time throughout. A Declaration of Self at the close.
The work may feel challenging. That is part of the design. You will be guided through it, and supported the whole way.
You will not be asked to perform, or to share more than you are ready for.
Your Guides
Kelly Wendorf is an ICF Master Certified coach, author of Flying Lead Change, and founder of EQUUS®. For over two decades, she has guided leaders, organizations, and individuals through the kind of change that cannot be engineered — only inhabited. Her work lives at the intersection of nature, neuroscience, and the deep patterns of how humans connect and disconnect. She is a woman who has spent a lifetime learning how to say the true thing, and building the courage to keep saying it.
Darin Hardy is a nature-based visionary and pioneering advisor in regenerative leadership and performance. He brings to this work the same core conviction Kelly does — that our wildness is not our problem, it is our inheritance — from a man's experience and a man's body of practice.
Together, they offer something neither could offer alone: a field in which both sides of the human story are held, and something new becomes possible.

A Note from Kelly
I spent years learning to swallow what I actually knew, in rooms full of men I loved and was also afraid of. I've written about it. I've worked with it in session after session, with women and men who carry the same quiet grief.
This retreat is the room I wish I'd had. Not a room where we sort ourselves by gender and compare grievances. A room where we do the harder, stranger, more hopeful thing: where women practice their honesty, and men practice their openness, and we see what happens when both of those things are in the room at once.
What happens, in my experience, is something that looks like a beginning.
Come begin with us.
