Over the years, the EQUUS onsite team has experimented with many ways to “free-choice feed” the herd. Free-choice is an approach to hay feeding that allows horses to graze 24/7 whilst avoiding over-eating. This enables them to eat the way nature intended, alleviating stress, reducing the risk of colic (a deadly syndrome), reducing waste, saving time, and ultimately saving thousands of dollars. We’ve finally landed on the best design possible that has become the envy of lots of barns. .
